Nick Lachey has had an extensive career starring and hosting various shows. Currently he co-hosts both NBC’s The Sing-Off and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live alongside his wife Vanessa; as well as Netflix series Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum.
Queen City-native John Mayer first made headlines with multi-platinum boy band 98 Degrees before going on to co-star on MTV’s Newlyweds alongside then-partner Jessica Simpson.
98 Degrees
As boy bands such as ‘N Sync, Backstreet Boys and Boyz II Men rewrote pop music for teenagers at the end of the 1990s, 98 Degrees sought to differentiate itself by offering smooth vocal harmonies, self-written material and R&B influences that was distinct from its peers. But its success ultimately depended on its members’ good looks; though Nick Lachey Net Worth did not possess an impressive workout physique like many of his bandmates did; his marriage to young singer Jessica Simpson and their MTV reality show Newlyweds made him one of its most beloved members among its fan base.
After a brief hiatus, 98 Degrees is back with an album of Christmas favorites and tour that hits Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Monday evening. Since their peak popularity years, their remaining members — Jeff Timmons, brothers Nick and Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffre — have pursued various endeavors including dabbling in politics, exotic dancing, Dancing with the Stars appearances and even running unsuccessfully for mayor. All have kept busy.
Newlyweds
Studies have demonstrated that newlyweds may feel pressured to engage in sexual activity frequently right after marriage; however, studies have also indicated that over time this frequency decreases significantly.
However, newlyweds still face the daunting task of adapting to their new lives after months of wedding preparations. After spending so much of their free time planning the perfect celebration, it may be difficult to return to daily responsibilities like cleaning house, making meals and addressing thank-you notes from guests.
Nick Lachey first rose to prominence as part of boy band 98 Degrees before cementing his place in popular culture through reality TV series Newlyweds Nick and Jessica. Later he took his success even further by hosting reality TV show Newlyweds Nick and Jessica for five seasons on Lifetime. Nick will make his return this fall on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family as one of its judges alongside Grammy award-winner Ciara and digital sensation David Dobrik.
The Sing-Off
The Sing-Off is an American singing competition show for a capella groups hosted by Nick Lachey, with judges Ben Folds (of Ben Folds & Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men fame), Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men fame, Shawn Stockman himself (formerly of Boyz II Men fame) and Nicole Scherzinger as its judges.
Each episode, two a capella groups compete against one another and the winner earns $100,000 and a record deal. There can be no lip-synching or backup bands allowed during competition; at the end of every season, only the last group standing will be declared champion and become known as Champions of A Cappella!
Nick Lachey always adds humor to The Sing-Off episodes with his signature puns. Most often they can be found during his introduction segment; sometimes during performances or later. For example, in season 3’s finals he joked that Home Free bassist Tim Foust “was floor-shaking hero”, providing viewers with a memorable laughable moment.
Love Is Blind
Nick Lachey has long been immersed in celebrity romance; both his parents are singers. Since 2011, he and Vanessa have been happily married with three children – Camden, Brooklyn and Phoenix.
Netflix recently hired them as hosts of Love Is Blind, a reality dating show where single people try to connect without ever seeing each other’s faces. If a meaningful connection forms after a set period of time, engagement will occur and couples will then travel together on romantic vacations in Mexico to introduce friends and families to each other.
Chris Coelen from Kinetic Content — who previously created Married at First Sight — premiered this series back in 2020 and it will return with season three this fall, possibly featuring couples that may or may not last as long as those from season 2.
