Create Canapes as an alternative to Starters
It’s not just a matter of the need to clean forks and knives if you’ve got only enough cutlery for a single course It also reduces the stress because people are talking and having an appetizer in the living room or kitchen and not lingering for a table!
I love serving these delicious Cranberry Brie Bites. It is possible to cook the puff pastry ahead of time, and after serving you can add the brie, to the oven and cook for couple of minutes. Serve with thyme and cranberry sauce and serve.
Cranberry as well as Brie bites – an easy appetizer or a snack for a party that is always finished in a matter of minutes!
Make-ahead Gravy
Gravy – usually the main dish that creates the most stress because it’s usually completed at the last minute, after the turkey has already come removed from the oven. There’s the worry of a gravy that is lumpy or bland and even more so if when you realize that there’s not any drippings of meat on the bottom of your roasting tin.
Make my gravy ahead It’s all you need to do is roast a few chickens before Christmas, so that you can create delicious gravy.

Prepare these Roast Potatoes ahead too!
The day prior, roast the potatoes in the same way you normally would and then take them out of the oven at a lightly gold. Put them in a dish, chill, then cover with a lid and store in the refrigerator.
Cover the tray for roasting that includes the fat or oil in it, too. It is possible to leave it at the room temperature.
Then, on the day of roasting you are ready to cook, heat in the oven 10 minutes for 200C/400F, with the roasting tray placed in the oven. Transfer the potatoes onto the roasting tray, and cook for 20 to 30 minutes until golden and crisp. Twice-roasted potatoes sound nice for me personally.
Make-ahead Mashed Potato
Mash your potatoes one day or two in advance. Then cool, wrap in plastic and store in the refrigerator. You can use your microwave on xmas day. Reheat the potatoes and stir several times until the potatoes are hot. Serve it garnished with a knob butter.

Make sure to keep it simple with the Roast Turkey Simple!
Simple turkey There’s no basting, and no stuffing, let the taste of the turkey shine through without all the hassle.
I drizzle oil over it then season it and add a cup broth to my roasting pan. After that, I cook it in foil to keep it tasty and juicy. The foil will come off at the end of the half hour to allow the skin to get brown. Don’t forget that the turkey roast will require at least 30 to 60 minutes to rest which means you’ll have plenty of time complete all the other components when the turkey is taken removed from the oven.

Cover the Pigs with Blankets
You can wrap the pork sucks wrapped in blankets, and then put them on baking pans Cover and chill. The next day, remove the wrap and put into the oven to cook for about 25-30 hours. It is possible to prepare them in advance by heating them at the end of the day. Check the section on making ahead on the recipe card of my recipe for pigs in blankets.

Buy Ready-Prepped Veg
Ready-peeled sprouts, ready-trimmed chanteney carrots and green beans are all great options because they don’t require preparation.
I prefer to steam them in order to prepare them so I can put them in the steamer in the evening before. If you find that steamed vegetables sound dull it is possible to prepare a few toppings to be sprinkled or drizzled in the last minutes:
Honey Balsamic Sprouts: Mix balsamic and honey together on the morning before Then drizzle it over sprouts steamed and then add a few flaked almonds.
Butter Pepper Carrots Mix a few tablespoons of salted butter that is good quality with a generous small amount of pepper white. Cover with a lid and let it sit at the room temperature. Pour the soup over the steamed carrots. Include a sprig or two of fresh rosemary or sprinkle with parsley, if you want.
Garlic Parmesan green beans – Mix a few tablespoons of salted butter that is good quality with a half clove of minced garlic. Cover with a lid and let it sit at the room temperature. Pour the sauce over the steamed green beans. Sprinkle with a tablespoon of ready-grated Parmesan before serving.

This means you don’t have to run around emptying glasses. Kids love filling all the punch glasses.
I’ve got a fantastic holiday punch recipe for you here. You can make a non-alcohol version by removing the prosecco and vodka and replacing them with lemonade, or something similar to shloer.

Make-ahead dessert
I like doing this so that the dessert doesn’t end up eating up fridge space The Chocolate Cherry Cake is an excellent to make ahead dessert that is served cold, or even microwave the slices for a few seconds to get them warm. Serve it with a drizzle of thick cream, or frozen ice cream.
Or, you can opt for mince pie and citrus drizzle cakes or some fancy brownies.
